William Childs

William R. Childs has been in the History Department at The Ohio State University since 1984. He has published two books and numerous articles and reviews on Modern American history; edited a scholarly journal; and co-edited an encyclopedia on business and industry. He teaches courses on American capitalism, modern U.S. and 20th century world history. He was active with CATCO, Columbus' Equity theatre, from the early 1990s until 2009, as Trustee, President, dramaturge, and backstage dresser. His favorite roles there included dramaturge for The Grapes of Wrath (2001), and for the original productions of You're My Boy (Herb Brown, 2005) and Pierce to the Soul (Chiquita Mullins Lee, 2010).
