Cheng Zhang is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and a MFA student in DAIM (Digital Animation & Interactive Multimedia) program in the Department of Design. As a Graduate Research Associate, she has worked on special effects in the Camouflage project and the Melton project. In her CSE research, she developed an algorithm to achieve real-time reflections on curved surfaces and presented at IADIS 2008 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She also implemented an approach to solve Wheel-effect and presented at SPIE 2010 in San Jose, California. Currently she’s working on improving the perception of high-speed motion in Computer Animation.
